World Heritage site Wadden Sea

More than worthwhile

When you explore the unique Wadden Region, it will become clear quite rapidly why it is a World Heritage site. The Wadden Sea and its coast offer many possibilities for excursions. Beautiful fauna: try to find the sea eagle. And beautiful flora: walk the orchid route. What you’ll find there during the months of may, june and july is obvious.

Cross the Wad to one of the Wadden Islands. By boat or with an organized hike. If a crossing by foot seems to arduous or far: a shorter hike on the wad leaves an indelible impression. However, the hike can only be done under expert guidance.
In the Activities Centre of the National Park Lauwersmeer you can acquaint yourself with the National Park Lauwersmeer. Cruises, a full moon hike or carousing in the playing forest. It’s all there. Open on Sunday, in vacation periods open Tuesday thru Sunday.
