If you stay at De Wadden, “eating a fish” is part of it. Several good addresses can be found in the port of Lauwersoog. Highly recommended are eel smokehouse Gaele Postma in Zoutkamp and restaurant ‘t Ailand of the sustainably fishing Goede Vissers in Lauwersoog.

Culinary enthusiasts can visit Restaurant Herberg Molenrij (Molenrij) or restaurant De Oude Sluis (Zoutkamp) or De Piloersmaborg (Den Ham), the latter of which has a Michelin star. All restaurants with good, sustainable and honest cuisine. Actually, you should try them all.

Do you like Indonesian food? Then we highly recommend café-restaurant Aan de Haven in Zoutkamp or Herberg Eisseshof in the beautiful village of Niehove. Furthermore, you will find ZK’86, De Deurenloods and De Boeter located at the old inner harbor of Zoutkamp.

In the direction of Friesland we advise you to take a look at Het Raadsel van het Lauwersmeer (Marina Oostmahorn), so with a beautiful terrace located on the lake. Upon entering, you will feel that you are just as welcome for a cup of coffee or a nice lunch as for a surprising dinner.

Restaurant De Dream stands out for its beautiful location on the Dokkumer Ee. In addition, you will be surprised with a pallet of six delicious starters and desserts and a free choice in the main course. A mecca for people who want to try everything and therefore have difficulty choosing. You don’t have to do that here!
