Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer

For adults (and children)

The area around the Lauwersmeer and the Wadden is ideal for cycling, walking, mudflat walking, sailing, boating and canoeing.

Go to Schiermonnikoog for a day (“Schier” as the Groninger says) and take the bikes with you. You get the feeling that you are going on holiday during your holiday.

With the cycling network and the wadden walking network (both walk in front of the door) you can decide for yourself where you go and how long the route will be. We have both marked and unmarked cycling and walking routes waiting for you.

In the Lauwersmeer National Park and the surrounding area you will find numerous beautiful marked hiking trails. Take a look at them at your leisure.

Lauwersmeer National Park: hiking trails

Lauwersmeer: Ballast plate/Observation tower route 5km

Water and canoeing go well together, of course. Especially in such a beautiful area as the Lauwersmeer. Just relaxed paddling around is of course wonderful. For the experienced canoeist there is a beautiful route that takes you to Dokkum and back again. And can you imagine that perhaps (just maybe) thousands of skaters will brave the cold during the next eleven-city tour? Ready for some other relaxation? Then discover the area with a TukTuk (www.tuktuklauwersoog.nl).
